DEBUTS SPECIAL STRIPPED-DOWN PERFORMANCES OF “NO STONE UNTURNED” AND “OUR HEARTS” ON VEVO FOLLOWING “WHAT WHISKEY DOES” CMT WORLD PREMIERE
Last Tuesday (2/5), Randy Houser made the late night debut of his Top 40 hit, “What Whiskey Does” alongside famed co-writer, Hillary Lindsey on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Country powerhouse stuck around the show for an encore performance of his self-exploratory “No Stone Unturned,” which can be viewed exclusively here. Leading into Sunday’s big ceremonies, Houser headlined The GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi Presents “A Night On The River” Thursday night (2/7), which celebrated the 10th anniversary of Mississippi Night at GRAMMY Museum® Los Angeles. Houser perfomed several songs off new new album Magnolia before closing the night with a soulful rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary” alongside Grammy nominees from the Mississippi and the surrounding areas, Sean Ardoin, DOE (Dominique Jones), Cedric Burnside and Reverend Hodges of Hi Rhythm Section.
Houser kicked off his busy week with the premiere of his official music video for “What Whiskey Does” on CMT.com, before releasing two one-of-a-kind performances for VEVO. Houser treated the VEVO studio to two stripped-down performances – “No Stone Unturned” and “Our Hearts” – off of Magnolia. Houser also made time to participate in the “Mississippi Education Program featuring Randy Houser,” also held at the Grammy Museum®, where the singer met with students from Los Angeles to raise awareness for musical education.
Magnolia (released January 11 via Stoney Creek Records/BBR Music Group) was heavily influenced by the blue-collar life of his native Mississippi (aka the Magnolia state) and Randy’s new season of life to become a new iteration of vintage Houser. The gritty, swampy, expressive and unpolished sound was carefully cultivated by Houser himself after spending two years in the studio, fine tuning his guitarwork and co-writing each song with some of Nashville’s top creatives like Hillary Lindsey (who has written 20 #1 hits and penned tracks for heavy hitters including Lady Gaga, Avicii, Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and many more), John Osborne (of Brothers Osborne), Jaren Johnston (of Cadillac Three) and more.
