NASHVILLE, Tenn. (December 9, 2014) – Fans and viewers of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning musical competition series “The Voice” lit up social media platforms last night when three-time consecutive chart-topping artist and American Country Countdown Awards Male Vocalist of the Year nominee Randy Houser made a special appearance on the show, surprising contestant Craig Wayne Boyd during his hometown visit to Nashville, Tennessee. Between dates on Dierks Bentley’s Riser Tour, Houser flew in to Music City to support his longtime friend Boyd, showing up on stage during a concert at the Wild Horse Saloon.
“Craig, buddy, there’s no way that I could let you do a homecoming show here in Nashville without showing up and hanging out with everybody,” said Houser. The two then played several songs together, including Houser’s No. 1 smash hit “How Country Feels.”
“For Randy to take time out of his tour schedule to come out and support me means the world to me,” added Boyd, who has toured with Houser in the past as an opening act. “As a friend, I’ve always admired Randy because he had his ups and downs just like I have, and now, he’s had songs that are at the top of the charts.”
Fans came out en masse on social media to echo support for Boyd and for Houser. @ktsuewells tweeted: “This is why I love Country music, support for each other, not drama! @RandyHouser @CWBYall @blakeshelton” and @MenoxMusic shared, “WOW! “It’s so great to see Craig get this much-deserved recognition after years of hard work,” Houser added after the show. “I’m rooting for him to go all the way!”

Houser took country fans and industry insiders by storm with the 2013 releaseof his latest album How Country Feels. Scoring three consecutive No. 1 hits with the title track, “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” and “Goodnight Kiss,” Houser also earned an American Country Award for Most Played Radio Track: Male with “How Country Feels” and his first No. 1 as a songwriter with “Goodnight Kiss”.
