Sharing his award-winning night with his fans live from the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, tour mate Elle King joined Jelly Roll on stage to present the award for “The Male Artist of 2023”. “I thought, when I was here, that I didn’t have a chance at winning, but the losers won again baby!” exclaimed Jelly Roll. “This has absolutely nothing to do with me and it has everything to do with y’all. This was fan voted. This is for the fans. It’s always for the fans. The underdogs are back on top! I want to say thank you to the People’s Choice Country Awards for giving an opportunity to me and these 20,000 degenerates to celebrate this together, right now, live on national television from Cincinnati, OH.”
Lainey Wilson, attending the award show live at the Grand Ole Opry House, shared the following in her acceptance for “The Female Artist of 2023.” “My heart is about to beat out of my chest,” said Lainey. “A lot of it has to do with this award, but a lot of it has to do with standing on this Opry stage. Every single time I get to stand on this stage, I feel overwhelmed. I feel honored and humbled. I feel like I’ve got some very big shoes to fill. This year we have played every kind of show you can imagine. We have played clubs. We have played stadiums with Mr. Luke Combs. You name it; we have played it. Every single night, I look out there and I see a lot of y’all wearing your bell bottoms and hats. Thank y’all so much for letting me express myself through my music and the way that I dress. I love seeing y’all do the same exact thing. Y’all keep showing up and I’ll keep showing up, too. God bless y’all.”
