Texas native and emotive singer-songwriter Kolby Cooper releases the poignant break-up anthem “Excuses” available now on all streaming platforms. Produced by Philip Mosley and co-written alongside Brett Tyler and Jordan Walker, this track is Kolby’s first release since being signed. Listen to the brutally honest track HERE.
An ode to the “it’s not you, it’s me” pathos of break-ups, the tormentingly raw song was inspired by his guitar player’s sudden breakup. The song hits hard with overwhelmingly relatable lyrics brought to life by his ruggedly smooth vocals.
Drawn to his unrestrained, fresh sound, the 22-year-old is earning early praise for his signature blend of gut-wrenchingly relatable tracks centered around the emotional ups and downs we experience when relationships come to an end. “Excuses” is a testament to the niche Kolby has organically curated for himself as an advocate for the heartbroken. Able to delicately glide from angst to defiant to forlorn, “Excuses” stays true to what fans expect from the authentically real songwriter.
Having already amassed more than 113 million on demand streams to date, there’s no question that Kolby has been riding the fast track. Now with a record deal, a stacked list of tour dates, and more brand-new music on the horizon, 2021 is heating up to be his year, and “Excuses” is just a taste of what’s to come for the Texas native.
Kolby is managed by Floating Leaf Entertainment, booked by Red 11 Music, and is a staff songwriter at Combustion. Kolby is also the newest artist signed to BBR Music Group / Wheelhouse Records in partnership with Combustion Music.
