(Nashville,TN)- Parmalee’s current single, “Carolina,” continued its ascent this week when it broke Top 25 at country radio, landing a spot at #24 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck/Mediabase charts. Additionally, “Carolina” is up over six million in audience (according to Billboard/BDS) over the past five weeks. The single has now sold over 200,000 digital copies to date. “Carolina” is the follow up to the Country quartet’s debut Top 40 hit, “Musta Had A Good Time.”

“We have believed in ‘Carolina’ since day one. After spending the last year literally reliving the message behind this song on the road away from our home and families, it all comes back to that one moment when you can feel the hard work paying off. It’s an indescribable feeling to see people out there singing the words back to us and to know that they are hearing it on the radio.” said Matt Thomas, lead singer for Parmalee.

“We are so thankful to Country radio for its undying support and to our amazing team at Stoney Creek Records for its devotion to this single.” said Barry Knox, bass player for Parmalee.

ABOUT PARMALEE:
Stoney Creek Records’ Parmalee is a family band comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas (Lead Vocals/Guitar and Drums, respectively), cousin Barry Knox (Bass) and life-long best friend Josh McSwain (Guitar). Influenced by such musical heavyweights as the Allman Brothers, Travis Tritt and Bob Seger, the band’s name is derived from the small town of Parmele, NC (population 262), which is home to a small tin-roofed barn dubbed Studio B where the band practiced on every given evening.

Parmalee debuted as a Billboard “Bubbling Under” artist in June 2012 and has been featured in USA Today, AOL’s The Boot, Country Weekly, CNN, CMT Hot 20, FOX News Channel, Better Show, Travel Channel, WGN’s Midday News and GAC’S Headline Country. Both “Carolina” and Parmalee’s Top 40 debut single, “Musta Had A Good Time,” were fan voted #1 on Sirius XM The Highway’s “Hot 30 LIVE” countdown. “Musta Had A Good Time” spent four consecutive weeks at #1 on the “Hot 30 LIVE” and has been featured in national sporting event broadcasts for the PGA and MLB. In May 2013, the band was handpicked by Southwest Airlines as the very first act to perform on its Southwest Airlines Travelin’ Taylor Tour series, sponsored by Taylor Guitars. The Country foursome was also handpicked by MTV Networks to perform during this year’s O Music Awards, celebrating the best in digital music.
