(Nashville, TN) – Chart-topping Stoney Creek Records act Parmalee has maintained the #1 position on the Mediabase/ Country Aircheck chart for two consecutive weeks with the family band’s smash single “Carolina.”  Co-written by all four members of the band alongside hit songwriter Rick Beato, Parmalee’s homage to life on the road first claimed the #1 spot on both the Billboard Country Airplay AND Mediabase/ Country Aircheck charts the week of Dec. 9th.

Also this week, “Carolina” was certified GOLD by the RIAA after surpassing 500,000 in sales.

Parmalee celebrated its GOLD sales status, #1 single and album release with a performance on FOX & Friends in New York City this past Friday. Watch the band’s performance here: http://www.smarturl.it/ogqpi3

Since its release last Tuesday, FEELS LIKE CAROLINA has captured the attention of some of music’s most prominent tastemakers:

“. . . [a] deeply amiable album. . .while Parmalee makes misbehavior sound cuddly, it’s especially well equipped for regret.  That’s what animates not only “Carolina,” but also the album closer “Another Day Gone,” which opens with Matt Thomas singing ruefully, “I screwed up seven summers in one afternoon gone wrong,” and only gets more bruised from there. -Jon Caramanica, The New York Times

“Parmalee’s debut album, “Feels Like Carolina” (Stoney Creek), is so good that the band is perched on the edge of an overnight success story. . .”  -Glenn Gamboa, Newsday

“. . .these guys are a throwback to bands that fleshed out melodies with tight harmonies and classic-rock guitar riffs.” -Brian Mansfield, USA TODAY

“. . . their chemistry as a band and authentic love for both genres comes through with a powerful kick. ‘Feels Like Carolina’ feels really good as Parmalee holds a torch for a new brand of contemporary country and Southern rock.”-Darryl Addison, Great American Country (GAC)

“It [Feels Like Carollina] results in a twelve-song collection that never repeats an idea, full of songs that never feel like filler. It’s a generous act and anyone who knows that it takes this sort of artistic bravery to keep a music genre progressing should write a “thank you” to Parmalee this Christmas.” =Greg Victor, Parcbench.com

“There are more hits to be found on ‘Feels Like Carolina,’ a country debut to truly be proud of.” -Billy Dukes, Taste of Country

ABOUT PARMALEE
Stoney Creek Records’ Parmalee is a family band comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas (lead vocals/guitar and drums, respectively), cousin Barry Knox (bass) and life-long best friend Josh McSwain (guitar). Influenced by such musical heavyweights as the Allman Brothers, Travis Tritt and Bob Seger, the band’s name is derived from the small town of Parmele, NC (population 262), which is home to a small tin-roofed barn dubbed Studio B where the band practiced on every given evening.

Parmalee recently dominated the country radio charts with the #1, GOLD-selling single “Carolina” which made history in 2013 as being the third-longest #1 trek in the Billboard Country Airplay chart’s 24-year history – as well as the longest run by a Vocal Duo or Group. “Carolina” was also voted #1 by fans on SiriusXM The Highway’s “Hot 30 LIVE” countdown.

Parmalee’s Top 40 debut country radio single, “Musta Had A Good Time” was voted #1 by fans for four consecutive weeks on SiriusXM The Highway¹s “Hot 30 LIVE” and its video reached #1 on CMT’s PURE 12-Pack Countdown. The song has appeared on nationally broadcast sporting events from the NFL to the PGA and the MLB.  Also in 2013, Parmalee was handpicked by MTV Networks to perform at the 2013 O Music Awards, selected by Southwest Airlines to launch the brand’s “Southwest Airlines Travelin’ Taylor Tour” series, chosen as a Billboard “Bubbling Under” artist and featured as a
Clear Channel NEW! Artist to Watch.  Both hits “Musta Had A Good Time” and “Carolina” appear on Parmalee’s debut country album, FEELS LIKE CAROLINA, in stores now.   http://www.parmalee.com
