EP HARLEM GIRL IN A PERFECT WORLD COMING SOON
Nashville, TN – (September 13, 2024) Harlem’s own Wé Ani (Way Ah-nee) releases ASL music video for “Hardwood” via 19 Recordings/BMG. This video holds a lot of sentimental value to Wé. Her little brother, who due to an untreated ear infection, dealt with hearing loss for the first two years of his life. With the desire of wanting to communicate with her brother so he wouldn’t feel alone during this difficult time, Wé learned ASL. Her love for the deaf community is a personal and heartfelt one; so, it’s vital that her music is accessible to all.
The “Hardwood” ASL music video is a celebration of inclusion. It’s a stripped-down version from her original video yet continues to keep the same hype as its predecessor. Wé Ani, decked out in an all denim look, commands the spotlight center stage with her intricate dance moves and infuses an electric energy to her sign language.
Wé consistently shows how she separates herself from the artists around her. With her powerhouse voice and hyperfocus on intentionality, Wé Ani is a refreshing beauty to the artistry of music. Wé’s sophomore EP, Harlem Girl in a Perfect World is due for release very soon. To stream, download or purchase her latest release “Hardwood” click HERE.
