(NASHVILLE, TN)– Stoney Creek Records’ Parmalee is set to make its debut on the legendary Grand Ole Opry, The
Show That Made Country Music Famous, this Friday night, March 1st at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN.

Parmalee will perform on the renowned stage with a bill that includes Opry members Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Steve Wariner, Montgomery Gentry and more at 7 p.m. that evening. Tickets to the show are available at Opry.com and 615-871-OPRY.

Hailing from North Carolina, Parmalee has been influenced by many of the musical heavyweights who have graced the Opry stage throughout the years. Now, it is finally the band’s turn to cross a Grand Ole Opry debut off its bucket list.

“We are completely blown away!” said Matt Thomas, “What an honor to be invited into the ‘Circle’. This is definitely a lifetime achievement for all us.”

“My first thought when I heard we were playing the Grand Ole Opry was, ‘My family is gonna be so proud!’” said Barry Knox.

About Parmalee:

Parmalee is a family band comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas (Lead Vocals/Guitar and Drums, respectively), cousin Barry Knox (Bass) and life-long best friend Josh McSwain (Guitar).

Influenced by such musical legends as the Allman Brothers, Travis Tritt and Bob Seger, the band’s name is derived from the small town of Parmele, NC (population 262), which is home to a gas station, two blinking yellow lights and a small tin-roofed barn dubbed Studio B where the band practiced on every given evening.

Cutting their teeth on the Southeastern touring circuit and known for their fun-loving live shows, the members of Parmalee endured a tumultuous journey to Nashville which included dangerous pit stops, catastrophic weather and a near-fatal robbery that would have torn most bands apart. Instead, Parmalee’s deep Country roots, intense motivation, and band-of-brothers sense of dedication brought the tight-knit crew even closer together.

The group’s debut single, “Musta Had A Good Time” hit Top 40 last year at Country radio and was voted as the #1 song on Sirius XM The Highway’s “The Hot 30 Live” countdown for four consecutive weeks. The single has now surpassed 130,000 download sold. “Musta Had A Good Time” placed #7 in the Top 10 Country Dance Hits of 2012 (Marco Club Connection). Additionally, the song has been featured in national sporting event broadcasts for the PGA and MLB.

Parmalee recently released the second single off its upcoming album for Stoney Creek Records, “Carolina.” The single was the #2 Most Added at Country radio behind superstar Kenny Chesney.
